Can You Buy Mattress Without Box Spring?

Can you Buy a Mattress without a Box Spring?  This is a question that comes from Mattress Customers on a daily basis.

The simple answer is, Yes, You can buy a Mattress without buying a Box Spring. But, if you are using an Old Box Spring, this could cause damage to your mattress and in turn could cause a manufacturer to deny any warranty claims that may arise.

Another thing to take into account when buying a Mattress and Box Spring. The Boxspring is a small portion of the mattress set price so may be worth getting the set price. On average, the Boxspring will cost less than $200 and will eliminate the questions if you ever have a warranty claim.

When you are thinking of not buying a Boxspring, there is an instance that one is not required. If you have a platform bed that has a solid flat surface, a Boxspring is not required.

If you are buying a Mattress and Boxspring, weigh your options to see if it makes sense to buy a set or a Mattress by itself. Buying the Boxspring is not mandatory so don't let anyone tell you that you don't have an option, but it may make sense to buy a Mattress as a set.

Jamison Lady Lark Latex Mattress

The Jamison Lady Lark Mattress is a Great choice for Mattress Buyers looking for a Mattress that feels Great, has a Great Warranty, and will hold up for a long period of time.

Lady Lark gets it's name from the Butterfly stretch knit cover that embodies the mattress, but don't let the whimsical name fool you, this is a beast of a mattress!  It is Solid Latex all the way thru and you want to make sure this is delivered and set up as it takes two strong men to carry this one, especially in king size. I would say the king mattress is over 300 pounds.

When I say a Mattress feels great, you definitely need to take a look at this one. The Lady Lark, being solid latex, gives in all the right places, but also pushes back into all the contours of your body to give you perfect alignment. The Jamison Lady Lark will not disappoint as it gives according to your weight, so feels great for couples that may not be able to agree on firmness.

The Jamison Lady Lark uses Talalay processing for its latex and comes with a 20 year non-prorated warranty. Not only will the Latex Mattress carry a Longer warranty than traditional mattresses, it also comes with a 3/4 inch body impression threshold for dips that may form which trumps the 1 1/2 inch body impression that comes with most all other mattress warranties.

The Lady Lark Latex Mattress, being Solid Latex, is more resilient and will hold its shape for a longer period of time. Most people do not mind spending a little more if the mattress will last longer and that's exactly what you will get out of this one, longevity!

If your looking for a Mattress, definitely check out the Jamison Lady Lark!  Jamison made this mattress with a customer in mind. It feels Great, comes with an amazing warranty, and will last long term. This is everything Mattress Shoppers are looking for in a Mattress!

Latex Mattress Warranty

Latex Mattress Warranties offer some of the best warranties in the business on mattresses, mainly because Latex is a more resilient material and will hold up better over a longer period of time.

Jamison Latex Mattress Warranties offer up to 20 year warranties and have a 3/4 inch threshold for confirming there may be a problem.

I have Never had a Latex Mattress Warranty issue in 10 years of selling the popular material. If you are looking for a Mattress to hold up long term and you are tired of all the dips and valleys in your old Mattress, take a look at Jamison's Latex Offerings.

Best Mattress For Back Pain?

What is the Best Mattress for Back Pain?  This is a question you hear numerous times per day in a Mattress Store.  Unfortunately, there is no easy answer, but there are additional questions that may narrow it down.

If you work in or own a Mattress store, you know how often this question comes up and how you almost go into "Mattress Doctor" mode to help alleviate customers Back Pain.  Here is my list of questions, in no certain order.

1. What size mattress do you have now?
Maybe this is just an ice breaker because it provides no useful information, unless the customer is super tall and sleeping on a twin mattress.

2. What type of Mattress do you have now?
Most customers really do not know what type or kind or even who made the mattress they are currently sleeping on.  The idea is to see if it is just a regular inner spring or some other material.

3. How long have you had your mattress?
This is an obvious question, Mattresses do wear out...
This question could be placed 2nd because if the Mattress is 10 years old, it is most likely an inner spring mattress.  I have found that more than 90% of customers sleep on inner spring now, but 75% are moving to newer, more innovative materials, such as Memory foams, Latex, and Hybrid Mattresses.

4. What type of foundation do you have or what type of bed is your current mattress on?
This tells a good bit actually.  If a customer states, its my grandmothers old bed and slats are broke under it and the Mattress sags, etc.  I think I can help you!

More often than not, these questions will reveal the true problem with your current mattress.  Most customers are sleeping on 15 to 20 year old Mattresses that were hand-me-downs when they started sleeping on them.

Ok, we have found the problem and realize, You need a New Mattress!  Now what?  There are so many options, styles, materials, warranties, covers, foundations that recline you, massage you, flip, no-flip, WOW, too many options!!!

Its ok, This is my expertise, I am here to help.  We can figure this out for you and I will be able to sleep better at night knowing I was able to help you sleep better.

I Truly believe in Jamison Mattresses and the Reviews we receive Only confirms my opinion.  Jamison Mattresses have all the different types and options like all the rest, but don't let that get you confused, because I am going to make this easy for you.  There are numerous mattresses in each store you visit, but break it down and see which is best for you.

Go to your local Jamison Mattress store and notice the tags at the ends of each Mattress.  They are separated into collections and there are only a handful of collections so this makes it easier to break down.

For instance, Jamison has an (#1 English Garden collection) which is comprised of 3-5 Mattresses that are constructed with similar materials, but have varying degrees of softness or firmness.  Ok, just narrowed down 5 Mattresses real quick.  These are Pocketed Coil mattresses that will give you a similar inner spring type feel with different softness ratings within the collection.

Ok, Jamison Mattress Collection #2 (Vita Pedic) which is their 2 sided mattresses.  They also come in different degrees of softness from Pillow top, Plush, or Firm.  Ok, that narrows down a couple more.

#3 TLC Collection.  Jamison has a great lineup of Latex Mattresses, also in varying degrees of soft to firm.  Are you seeing the big picture now.  There are only 5-7 different mattresses, but there are different firmness ratings because not everyone likes soft, not everyone likes firm.

#4 Resort Collection, probably one of my favorite and a favorite of many customers.  This is the collection that many hotels or resorts have carried for years and continue to choose for the hospitality industry, Big names such as Marriott, not to drop names....But if its good enough and holds up for Hotel guests, it has to be a good mattress.  This years Resort collection takes advantage of Micro Coil technology where there are a large number of small coils to adjust to different body contours, these coils are in the middle part of the mattress with foam as your comfort layer.

#5 Jamison Collection is the Gel Comfort Collection that uses different firmness of Memory Foam.

So, in a Jamison Mattress store, you are really looking at 5 Mattresses which are collections and there are numerous options within each collection so you find a Mattress that is most comfortable for you.  I will follow up with a breakdown of which mattress in Jamison is best for your back based on your preferences, but don't make buying a Mattress confusing.  Although there are numerous mattresses to choose from, narrow down your options within a store and then within the collection and then to the mattress!

Jamison Grand Resort Hybrid Mattress

The Jamison Resort Hotel Collection gets a new look and feel with one of the most popular called The Grand Mattress, also known in some stores as the Pinnacle Mattress.  Jamison has incorporated the Micro Coil like many other companies.  Micro Coil technology is different than regular coils or springs.  Micro Coils allow the ability to put 1353 small coils in the Grand Queen Mattress, 1722 king, which allows it to conform perfectly to the sleeper and with these coils being independent, it dampens the motion transfer from sleeping partner.  These coils are smaller in diameter and shorter.

The Jamison Grand Hybrid with MicroCoils allows for a firm base foam in bottom of mattress, a soft top layer, with sandwiched micro coils between the 2.  This allows for a more conforming feel over the All foam predecessor.  The Grand is called a Hybrid Mattress because it uses Foam technology along with Coil technology so is a mixed or Hybrid technology.  Customers are much more receptive of this feel as it feels closer to what they have been accustomed to in coils, but gives the added comfort of Foam without being All foam.

Jamison Grand Mattress Construction:
Top Mattress Layer: Quilted to 1 1/2 inch super soft Convoluted foam and 1 inch hypersoft blend and safe slumber fire retardant protection.  If you remember the Savannah Mattress from last year, this is the same construction minus the micro coils.

Center Mattress layer: Palladian MicroCoil, twin has 798, full has 1102, queen 1353, and king allows for 1722 MicroCoils.

Support Layer or Bottom Layer: The core of the Mattress offers the 7 inch Marriott high resiliency ultra premium core which is the building block of most all Jamison Mattresses.

Mattress Thickness: Approx. 11 inches to top of mattress
TruBalance Foundation Thickness: 9 Inches

Jamison Resort Mattress Collection

It is that time of the year for Jamison Mattress to make some changes in the Mattress Line, the once a year shuffle to spruce up some stale models and introduce new Mattresses.

Jamison Resort Collection:
The Popular lineup of Jamison Ultimate Resort, Savannah, and Sea Island or depending how close you are to a competing dealer, it could be Jamison Supreme Resort, Charleston, and Sea Pines.  Ultimate Resort/Supreme Resort are the same Mattress, Savannah/Charleston are the same, and Sea Island/Sea Pines are the same.  Mattress Manufacturers do this on occasion in case they have 2 local dealers in the same town.  This makes it more fair for local dealers so they are not competing against the same set, I think.  That is another story, but the real reason for this reading is to tell you the exciting things Jamison Bedding has in store and most likely "In Stores" now.

Although the Resort Collection Mattresses are being dropped,  here are a few of the Resort Mattresses that are taking their place and a quick glance on construction.

Jamison Grand Resort/Pinnacle Resort which is a Hybrid bed with Micro Coil technology which is totally different than inner springs so don't get the two confused. The Micro Coils are in the middle of the mattress with a firm base foam and a softer Convoluted foam on top.

Hilton Head/St. Simons is a 12" Mattress with 1 1/2" Convoluted Foam on top with 1" Quilted Fiber, 2 1/4 Super Soft with the 7" Marriott Core used in Fine Hotels.

Newport/Biscayne Euro Pillow Top is Also new to the Resort Collection featuring Micro Coils 1" Super Soft Convoluted Foam and 1" Quilted Fiber and 2 1/4 Pillow Top making the Mattress 14 Inches Thick.

Amelia/Key Largo Resort Sets are 11 Inches Thick with 1" Hypersoft and 1" Silk blend quilted fiber and 2" of 3.7 lb Jgel Memory Foam with the 7" Marriott Core used in many Fine Hotels.

LaJolla/Bal Harbor Euro Pillow Top is 14" thick with 1" Super soft and 1" Hypersoft layers with 2" Soft GL Talalay 21 ILD Latex and Micro Coils.  Just to give you an idea on the Micro Coils---1353 in a queen and 1722 in a king!

Bayside/Lakeside 8" Resort bed has the 7" Marriott Core with 1" Supersoft Comfort layer.

This is a Very Brief look at the New Resort Collection and the components that make up the new Mattress, but for a more comprehensive look at the Mattress, Visit your local Jamison Bedding Dealer and see how Jamison Makes Sleep different.

Jamison Latex Mattress Reviews

Many manufacturers have some type of Latex mattress, but Jamison has a Latex Bed for every comfort level.  When looking through reviews of Latex Mattresses, realize there is a difference in how the Mattress is made.

Jamison uses a process known as Talalay. The Talalay process is a method of producing molded pieces of latex foam rubber.  You can read more about the process here.

Jamison Latex Mattress selections:
Latex mattresses within TLC
  • Monarch (Plush one side/Firm other side)
  • Emperor (Plush one side/Firm other side)
  • Glidder (Plush one side/Firm other side)
  • Captain (Plush one side/Firm other side)
  • Lady Lark (Plush)
  • Admiral (Plush)
  • Prince (Plush)
  • Leafwing (Plush one side/Firm other side)
  • Gullwing (Plush one side/Firm other side)
  • Silverspot (Plush)
  • Goldleaf (Plush)
  • Swallowtail (Firm)
  • Longtail (Firm)
  • Cloudwing (Plush Firm)
  • Skipper (Plush Firm)
  • Peacock (Medium/Firm)
  • Ringlett (Medium Firm)
This is a large selection in Latex Mattresses by one company, but also realize there are 2 different names to most mattresses.  This is done so that 2 stores close or in same town are not pricing the same mattress and competing against each other.  The Monarch/Emperor are solid Latex all the way thru where the other options have a solid base foam with varying layers of Latex on top.  The Lady Lark has also been re-worked to be an All Latex Mattress.

If you are looking for a Firm Latex Mattress, check out the peacock, Ringlett, Swallowtail, and Longtail.  These are really firm selections when looking at Latex Mattress sets.  All Latex Mattresses are good selections when trying to find a Mattress that is Hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant, and a more natural material.
