What is the Best Mattress for Back Pain? This is a question you hear numerous times per day in a Mattress Store. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer, but there are additional questions that may narrow it down.
If you work in or own a Mattress store, you know how often this question comes up and how you almost go into "Mattress Doctor" mode to help alleviate customers Back Pain. Here is my list of questions, in no certain order.
1. What size mattress do you have now?
Maybe this is just an ice breaker because it provides no useful information, unless the customer is super tall and sleeping on a twin mattress.
2. What type of Mattress do you have now?
Most customers really do not know what type or kind or even who made the mattress they are currently sleeping on. The idea is to see if it is just a regular inner spring or some other material.
3. How long have you had your mattress?
This is an obvious question, Mattresses do wear out...
This question could be placed 2nd because if the Mattress is 10 years old, it is most likely an inner spring mattress. I have found that more than 90% of customers sleep on inner spring now, but 75% are moving to newer, more innovative materials, such as Memory foams, Latex, and Hybrid Mattresses.
4. What type of foundation do you have or what type of bed is your current mattress on?
This tells a good bit actually. If a customer states, its my grandmothers old bed and slats are broke under it and the Mattress sags, etc. I think I can help you!
More often than not, these questions will reveal the true problem with your current mattress. Most customers are sleeping on 15 to 20 year old Mattresses that were hand-me-downs when they started sleeping on them.
Ok, we have found the problem and realize, You need a New Mattress! Now what? There are so many options, styles, materials, warranties, covers, foundations that recline you, massage you, flip, no-flip, WOW, too many options!!!
Its ok, This is my expertise, I am here to help. We can figure this out for you and I will be able to sleep better at night knowing I was able to help you sleep better.
I Truly believe in Jamison Mattresses and the Reviews we receive Only confirms my opinion. Jamison Mattresses have all the different types and options like all the rest, but don't let that get you confused, because I am going to make this easy for you. There are numerous mattresses in each store you visit, but break it down and see which is best for you.
Go to your local Jamison Mattress store and notice the tags at the ends of each Mattress. They are separated into collections and there are only a handful of collections so this makes it easier to break down.
For instance, Jamison has an (#1 English Garden collection) which is comprised of 3-5 Mattresses that are constructed with similar materials, but have varying degrees of softness or firmness. Ok, just narrowed down 5 Mattresses real quick. These are Pocketed Coil mattresses that will give you a similar inner spring type feel with different softness ratings within the collection.
Ok, Jamison Mattress Collection #2 (Vita Pedic) which is their 2 sided mattresses. They also come in different degrees of softness from Pillow top, Plush, or Firm. Ok, that narrows down a couple more.
#3 TLC Collection. Jamison has a great lineup of Latex Mattresses, also in varying degrees of soft to firm. Are you seeing the big picture now. There are only 5-7 different mattresses, but there are different firmness ratings because not everyone likes soft, not everyone likes firm.
#4 Resort Collection, probably one of my favorite and a favorite of many customers. This is the collection that many hotels or resorts have carried for years and continue to choose for the hospitality industry, Big names such as Marriott, not to drop names....But if its good enough and holds up for Hotel guests, it has to be a good mattress. This years Resort collection takes advantage of Micro Coil technology where there are a large number of small coils to adjust to different body contours, these coils are in the middle part of the mattress with foam as your comfort layer.
#5 Jamison Collection is the Gel Comfort Collection that uses different firmness of Memory Foam.
So, in a Jamison Mattress store, you are really looking at 5 Mattresses which are collections and there are numerous options within each collection so you find a Mattress that is most comfortable for you. I will follow up with a breakdown of which mattress in Jamison is best for your back based on your preferences, but don't make buying a Mattress confusing. Although there are numerous mattresses to choose from, narrow down your options within a store and then within the collection and then to the mattress!
